The results of the professional stage for the snow and ice sculpture festival "Magic Ice of Siberia" were announced on January 11. A total of 20 teams took part in the nominations "Ice" and "Snow". For several days, the sculptors, being the real wizards of their craft, worked on the compositions on the upper tier of the left embankment of the Yenisei.

The judge committee primarily assessed creativity, complexity and attention to detail in this competition.

The winner in the Snow category was the "Muusuus" team from Yakutia. Their sculpture titled "Symphony No. 1. Winter Dreams" depicts a young woman with a violin. At the foot of the sculpture is an elk, symbolizing the wind that carries her away on the waves of music. The team members are the Petukhov brothers. They regularly come to the Festival and often win prizes. Last time in Krasnoyarsk in 2019 they won silver.

— We are very happy with this victory, we made our composition with all our hearts, which I think is what's really important.

The team "Snowdrops" received silver for their "Snow Waltz".

The third prize went to the team "Mongol", who created their "Tchaikovsky" with a piano and a ballerina. Mongolia sent two of the most experienced professionals, but they came to the festival for the first time.

The main prize in the Ice nomination was taken by participants from Yekaterinburg. They created the "Crown of the Empire" with precisely worked out small details.

The second place went to the team "Ice Dream" from the city of Yakutsk, who made a sculpture "Decisive Battle".

And the third place was awarded to the Krasnoyarsk "Stormfrun" and their composition "Spring".

According to the results of the public vote, the Audience Award in the Ice category went to the Ice Zepilen team from the Kemerovo Region. Their "Sleeping Beauty" received the most votes among Krasnoyarsk residents.

In the nomination "Snow" in the public vote, the Harbin team won for the sculpture "Heart of Music". These esteemed professionals from China visited the festival and the city for the first time.

The professional stage of the Festival became the climax of the event. It was attended by teams from different cities of Russia, including Perm, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Yakutia and others. Sculptors from Mongolia, China and Belarus also came. The winners received prize cups, medals, diplomas and prize money. The St. Petersburg band The Hatters performed for the guests of the award ceremony on the Central Embankment. The head of the Main Department of Culture Lyubov Sakharova spoke at the closing ceremony of the event:

— Looking at all the magnificence around us today, I know for sure that the main winner of this festival is actually Krasnoyarsk itself, which was favored with an amazing, beautiful, unique Central Embankment for the whole winter. Maybe even the beginning of spring if the sculptures withstand until then!

Also important is to mention the sponsors of the festival. Magic Ice of Siberia was held with the constant support of the patron, Honorary Citizen of Krasnoyarsk Khazret Sovmen, as well as UC Rusal.

— Magic Ice of Siberia has been held in Krasnoyarsk since 2013.
