28.01.2025A concert of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra and the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Choir on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic's Small Concert Hall became the final chord of the Winter Surikov Art Festival. Maestro Vladimir Begletsov, one of the leading conductors of the country, laureate of international competitions, artistic director and chief conductor of the Concert Choir of St. Petersburg and the Boys' Choir of the Choral School named after M. I. Glinka conducted the event.

The evening's programme was linked to the work of Surikov's contemporary Pyotr Tchaikovsky, since in 2025 Russia celebrates the 185th anniversary of the composer's birth.
The Chamber Choir performed fragments of The Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, such as "Come, let us worship", "We hymn Thee", "It is Truly Fitting" and others. The Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra presented the audience with "Souvenir de Florences".

This year, the main programme of the festival included more than 40 events, visited by more than 7 thousand Krasnoyarsk residents. The city residents were able to attend numerous concerts. Also, exhibitions, flash mobs, and excursions took place in Krasnoyarsk.
For example, V.I. Surikov's Estate Museum prepared an exposition of wooden miniatures and figurines of Vasily Ivanovich's family and the artist himself. The estate also hosted the exhibition "Reverse", preparing more than 20 paintings that hide secrets on the flipside, such as sketches, doodles and more. The youngest guests were welcome to enjoy a play titled "Snow Town". The production was dedicated to the history of the creation of Vasily Surikov's most cheerful painting "The Capture of the Snow Town". This is a creative experiment that united the Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theatre and the Estate-Museum.
The highlight of the Festival was the "Underground Tour" organised for the first time in history, as visitors to the Estate were allowed to go down into the cellar of this ancient house and glimpse into the secrets kept there.
A total of six musical concerts were successfully held at the railway stations "Zlobino", "Yenisei" and "Krasnoyarsk" as part of the "Musical Journey through Railway Stations".
For the first time during the festival, it was possible to visit Vasily Surikov's favorite places in his native Krasnoyarsk on the "Looking at Siberia" excursion bus.
— This Festival ended up being especially exciting and eventful. The next one will be the jubilee one — the twentieth. We will be looking forward to this event and promise to prepare even more surprises for our residents, — said Lyubov Sakharova, Head of the Main Department of Culture.
