This year Krasnoyarsk celebrates the 396th anniversary of its founding. Festive celebratory events will take place on June 7, 8 and 9. By decision of the President of Russia, 2024 was declared the Year of the Family, therefore the Birthday of Krasnoyarsk will be held under such a banner. The City Day slogan "Big family in the heart of Russia" was chosen by the citizens themselves via a general vote.

The opening of the summer season of the Krasnoyarsk Youth Labor Unit, raising the flag and evening entertainment events in Gagarin Park, Sverdlovsky Square and Yaryginskaya Embankment are planned for June 7. On June 8, the residents will have the opportunity to join VK-Fest held in Krasnoyarsk for the first time, along with the "Lively River-Banks" project that is set to open on the embankments of the Yenisei river. On the last day, June 9, event sites will be open in the Oktyabrsky lake park, in the Solnechnaya Polyana park, in the Cheryomushki park and in the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk park.

This year marks the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, and in honor of this event, on Saturday, June 8, as part of the Lively River-Banks project, the Big Pushkin Day will be held at the Central Embankment. Guests of the event will be treated to the aesthetics of the era, the culture of the past and the poetry of the golden age of Russian literature. 

The organizers have prepared a rich event programme with vocal and instrumental performances, dances, workshops, interactive quests, outdoor games and poem reciting competitions. One of the most spectacular venues will be the historical ball of the 19th century on the main stage of the Embankment, according to the organizer of the ball, Elena Tkachenko:

— The open Pushkinsky Ball is an annual tradition of the city. The opportunity to come in an evening dress and suit attracts many, even those who do not have their own historical costume, do not know the dances of that era, but really want to join in the atmosphere of that era. At the open ball you will be able to learn ballroom etiquette of historical dances and become part of the celebration.
