25.11.2024During the sketch selection committee, experts reviewed 28 applications. As a result, 20 teams were admitted to participate in the Open Festival-Competition of Snow and Ice Sculptures, 10 in each nomination. Sculptors from Moscow and St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Perm, Irkutsk Region and Yakutia, as well as foreign participants from China, Belarus and Mongolia will take part in the competition.
The experts assessed the originality of the future sculpture and its relevancy to the theme of the competition - the work of the composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
In the Ice category, the Yakutsk team is considered one of the strongest contenders for victory. These masters are winners of international competitions for snow and ice masterpieces. They're going to present an unusual work for the competition – a Christmas tree, a ballerina and an army of mice merged into a single composition.
In the Snow category, craftsmen from China will try to recreate the story of the Nutcracker. A cunning mouse hides in his hat, and the Nutckacker is seen holding a heart with a treble clef in his hands. The Longjiang Forestry team has taken part in many foreign competitions and received worldwide recognition.
A team from Mongolia decided to make an image of Tchaikovsky himself out of snow. They will have to convey the features of the great composer, with a musical staff and the heroes of his ballets in the background.
This time, the sculptors of our city are performing together with their colleagues from our Northern capital. They represent the joint team "Krasnoyarsk - St. Petersburg". Previously, they all performed in the youth segment of the "Magic Ice of Siberia", and now they have grown to compete at the professional level.
