First Vice-Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Alexei Shuvalov held a working meeting with the Consul General of Mongolia in Irkutsk Ms Batsukh Ichinkhorloo.
During the conversation, the participants discussed issues of strengthening partnership in various fields. For instance, within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the cities of Krasnoyarsk and Ulaanbaatar in the education field, groups of school students from Mongolia visited our city in 2022, 2024 and 2025 to get to know Russia and the Russian language. Mongolian children also take part in Krasnoyarsk educational projects, such as, the Children's Environmental Festival with International Participation "EcoTales of "Roev Ruchey" and the Literary Competition "The Arctic Star – Umka".
The Mongolian team regularly participates in the International Wrestling Competition "Ivan Yarygin Cup". In 2025, the country will be represented by 11 athletes.
— The arrival of a team from Ulaanbaatar to our Festival of Snow and Ice Sculptures "Magic Ice of Siberia" was a notable event for our relationship in 2025. The Mongolian sculptors participated for the first time, but still took third place in the Snow category and impressed the jury with their level of professionalism. We hope to continue our cooperation. We would be interested in Mongolian participation at the International Music Festival "Asia-Siberia-Europe". This year we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Back then, Mongolia's assistance to our country was truly indispensable. We are interested in holding joint events dedicated to the upcoming anniversary.
Consul General Ms. Ichinkhorloo thanked the city for the warm and cordial welcome. She noted the high priority of expanding bilateral partnership with Krasnoyarsk as the administrative centre of one of the largest regions of the Russian Federation, with which Mongolia has strong long-term relations:
— For our part, we would like to further strengthen our cooperation, especially in the social field of work. Some of our key objectives are in education, specifically opportunities for exchanging pedagogical experience, mutual visits of school students, and the implementation of joint projects. In addition, we are interested in practices for organizing the work of school libraries.
Alexei Shuvalov shared that Krasnoyarsk has been paying special attention to modernizing libraries for several years now. The city is ready to share this experience with our Mongolian colleagues. The parties also discussed the possibility of children's and youth teams from Mongolia participating in the Robotics Championship and the Mayor's Cup in Cybersport.
